The EPA just announced final PFAS Drinking Water MCLs (maximum contaminant levels).


EPA released an updated Interim Guidance on Destroying and Disposing of Certain PFAS and PFAS-Containing Materials. The guidance contains a new technology evaluation framework that enables technology developers to assess emerging innovative destruction and disposal methods.

The final version of EPA 1633 was released by the U.S. EPA on January 31, 2024. EPA encourages laboratories, regulatory authorities, and other interested parties to review and use these methods, and EPA recommends their use now in NPDES permits. New Publication in Frontiers: Expansion of wastewater-based disease surveillance to improve health equity in California’s Central Valley: sequential shifts in case-to-wastewater and hospitalization-to-wastewater ratios

The American Chemical Society’s Environmental Science and Technology journal recently published a study, “A Self-Collection Blood Test for PFASs: Comparing Volumetric Micro-Samplers with a Traditional Serum Approach” which reports a test developed by Eurofins Environment Testing is a viable self-collection tool for assessing human exposure to PFAS.
