Press Release: Eurofins Announces New Rapid Pathogen Risk Testing

The Eurofins Microbiology Laboratory network is proud to offer a new approach to risk identification and management, Enteric Pathogen Risk Indicator (EPRI™) testing.
Microbiological risk identification and management are the foundational components of your food safety plan. We know that the tools you use can vastly impact your program’s efficiency and cost savings. EPRI™ combines the best of rapid genetic testing (such as PCR) with the benefits of indicator testing.
EPRI™ is designed to detect relevant foodborne pathogens without being conclusive of a pathogen’s presence. This unique screening tool provides a rapid option to screen for Shiga toxigenic E. coli (STEC) and Salmonella in one PCR assay. EPRI™ is validated to detect 119 different Salmonella strains in addition to 50 different STECs, including E. coli O157 and the “top 6” serogroups.
When you need to know if a risk is present, our comprehensive molecular tools for foodborne risk offer an industry-leading approach to designing an efficient and effective risk management program. Customers can use EPRI™ on its own or pair the screening with BACGene pathogen testing (Listeria species, Listeria monocytogenes, STEC, E. coli O157, Salmonella), other indicator assays, and traditional cultural confirmation steps.
