MicroTally™ has created an easy to incorporate system for in-line continuous sampling or manual single-lot sampling with the MicroTally™ swab, following a FSIS compliant, validated method. This system provides the advantages of nondestructive sampling, faster manual sample collection time (90 s), smaller samples that are easier to handle, less worker related injuries from sample collection, and an opportunity for expedited results due to a smaller, less challenging matrix for analysis.

Shortened Enrichment
Eurofins Microbiology Laboratory has validated an 8-hour enrichment for shiga-toxigenic E. coli (STEC) on MicroTally swabs, significantly shorter than traditional times used at other testing labs. The process utilizes exclusive Eurofins GeneScan Technologies’ BACGene Mplex STEC RealTime PCR assays and is inclusive of the Top 7 STEC serotypes (O157, O145, O121, O111, O103, O45, and O26).
