Nestled in the heart of California’s San Joaquin Valley, Fresno is a thriving agricultural hub renowned for its diverse produce, dairy farms, and food manufacturing operations. Strategically positioned within this bustling industry, Eurofins operates three specialized laboratories in Fresno, each dedicated to providing cutting-edge testing and support tailored to the region’s needs.

Specialized Services for the Fresno Community

Eurofins Microbiology Laboratory (EML)

EML Fresno serves the greater Central California area with comprehensive microbiological testing and environmental monitoring services. The lab plays a crucial role in supporting the agricultural industry by streamlining testing processes, allowing growers to focus on cultivating their crops while Eurofins handles microbial analysis.

Eurofins Advanced Food Microbiology

This specialized division of Eurofins focuses on non-routine microbiology testing, including pathogen and spoilage organism challenge studies, preservative efficacy studies, shelf-life evaluations, process validation studies, and process authority support. Additionally, for agricultural clients, the lab offers sanitizing efficacy studies and spoilage assessments tailored to the unique nature of fresh produce.

Eurofins DQCI provides expert laboratory services for dairy manufacturers, milk producers, and those involved in dairy-related product development. Expanding its offerings, the lab recently implemented rapid pesticide screening, as well as free fatty acid and aflatoxin analysis, to further serve the produce industry.

Commitment to Quality and Transparency

On January 30, 2025, Eurofins Fresno’s three food testing branches hosted their first combined open house, bringing together over 50 local clients and industry professionals. The event, held on a picture-perfect California day, had the atmosphere of a community block party, complete with music, food trucks, and a warm, welcoming environment. Attendees had the opportunity to tour each lab, engage with expert staff, and gain firsthand insight into Eurofins’ testing processes.

A standout moment of the day featured Eurofins’ own Martha Kimber, an expert in process authority support and customized challenge studies for foods and beverages. She led a lively trivia competition, testing participants' knowledge of Fresno’s food industry and microbiology in a fun and engaging way.
