A summary of the various state laws, including a look at how the European Union is approach this topic will be included. On December 17, 2021, the United State Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) published the final Unregulated Contaminants Monitoring Rule 5 (UCMR5). This fifth UCMR will require monitoring of the drinking water entry points of public water systems across the nation for selected Per- and Poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and Lithium.
