Bacterial Fruit Blotch Program Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The Seed Health department at Eurofins STA Laboratories, Inc., in Gilroy, California, is seeking a full-time employee to oversee the Bacterial Fruit Blotch testing program at that location. This position ensures that client samples that are received for bacterial fruit blotch testing are processed in an accurate and timely manner while upholding our standards for superior customer service and quality. The position requires the applicant to manage the planning, planting, growth, evaluation, verification and reporting of bacterial fruit blotch tests in a year around greenhouse complex.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Candidates should possess a MS degree in plant pathology or a closely related field as well as experience in greenhouse management. Experience with PCR, Real Time PCR, RT-PCR, PAGE, rep-PCR and other molecular techniques is desired. Experience with ELISA, pathogen culture and storage, and plant diagnostics is beneficial. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, will be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and will be able to work successfully within the Seed Health Team. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Outlook is essential. The position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week and the ability to lift 30 pounds.
